Born From Fire

The Full AI Workflow Breakdown

This is the complete, unfiltered build of my Jack Daniel’s spec ad, “Born in Fire. Finished in Patience.” Every reference, keyframe, prompt and setting, plus the parts that went wrong: a scrapped human pour, two failed full-length runs, and the fix that saved the spot. If you came here from the ad, this is exactly how it was made. Steal the prompts, swap in your own bottle, and make your own.

The workflow in one line: Claude writes and directs the prompts, Higgsfield generates the stills and the video, and I cut it in my editor. Stills from GPT Image 2 (the character from Midjourney V8), video from Seedance 2.0, finished in 4K with Topaz. The concept is grounded in the real Jack Daniel’s process: the rickyard charcoal burn, the Lincoln County charcoal mellowing (drop by drop, three to five days), new charred oak barrels. Fire is the only light source in the entire spot.

Here is the finished spot:

Stage 1: The Assets

The spot is a locked 5-beat spine: FIRE (the distiller works the rickyard), CHAR (flame inside the barrel), PATIENCE (one drop through charcoal), AMBER (ice into whiskey), HERO (the bottle). Every beat gets built and approved as a still before any video credits get spent.

The master distiller

What it does: the human soul of the spot. One locked portrait drives every frame he appears in.

Master distiller reference, Rembrandt firelight portrait with film grain
MASTER DISTILLER PROMPT
MODEL: gpt_image_2  |  RESOLUTION: 2k  |  ASPECT RATIO: 16:9  |  QUALITY: high
A cinematic photoreal documentary portrait photograph, 16:9 horizontal, chest-up, of a real Tennessee whiskey master distiller in his late sixties to early seventies, captured with the unsentimental honesty of an Annie Leibovitz craftsman portrait. His body and head are turned three-quarters toward an off-frame fire at screen-LEFT so his fully lit side reads screen-left and his eyeline travels off-frame into the unseen flame with the quiet, fixed concentration of a man who has watched rickyard fires his whole life; jaw set, not smiling, breath slow, a lifetime of watching sugar-maple blazes settled into his gaze. His is a deeply weathered working face: leathered sun-and-wind-creased skin, a heavy furrowed brow throwing a real shadow over hooded tired eyes, deep crow's-feet and forehead furrows that crease unevenly, leathery sun-damage on the neck and ears showing true age. True pore-level skin microtexture and subsurface scattering: coarse open pores across the nose and cheeks, fine vellus peach-fuzz along the jaw and temples catching the rim light, a faint sweat sheen on the forehead and the bridge of the nose with tiny firelight specular hotspots, scattered broken capillaries and ruddiness high on the cheeks and nose, sun spots, a chapped lower lip, and genuine facial asymmetry where one eye sits slightly lower, the nose is faintly off-center, and the brow and lip line are naturally crooked. SHORT, neatly close-cropped SILVER beard rendered as thousands of individual coarse grey and white strands of varied length and direction with a few strays, salt-and-pepper at the sideburns; bushy uneven silver eyebrows as discrete strand hairs; no hat, thinning natural silver hair, imperfect hairline. The eyes are quiet and focused with real moist tear-film glassiness, a visible lower-lid waterline, fine red veining in the sclera, and a warm flickering orange firelight CATCHLIGHT alive in BOTH eyes. Wardrobe: a dark, faded, worn charcoal cotton work shirt, collar open, sleeves rolled past the forearm exposing sinewy weathered forearms with raised veins and sun-spots, over a heavy unbleached canvas-and-denim apron with frayed edges, old stains, real woven thread texture, slubs, and creasing softened by years of use. ABSOLUTELY NO logos, no text, no lettering, no numbers, no labels, no signage, no patches, no embroidery, no readable type or brand marks of any kind anywhere in the frame. Lighting is strict classic Rembrandt portrait lighting from a SINGLE warm firelight source low and off-frame at screen-LEFT (an unseen rickyard sugar-maple blaze, roughly 1800-2200K ember-orange), raking across the lit screen-left side of his face and igniting the silver beard and brow with a warm rim, while the shadowed screen-RIGHT cheek carries the signature isolated Rembrandt triangle of light beneath the eye, a small inverted glow surrounded by deep falloff; absolutely no fill light and no second source. The background falls off rapidly to protected near-black crushed blacks with no detail, only faint drifting warm wood-smoke haze and soft floating ember sparks catching the glow, deep soft orange ember-bokeh suspended in the dark. Shot on an 85mm portrait lens at shallow depth of field so the eyes are tack-sharp and the ears and shoulders fall soft into near-black bokeh, rendered on Kodak Vision3 500T tungsten film stock with warm tungsten color science and gentle highlight roll-off, fine organic 35mm film grain across the whole frame, subtle natural halation and soft bloom blooming only on the brightest firelight highlights along the cheekbone, beard, and nose, very slight chromatic softness at the highlight edges, authentic photographic micro-contrast, natural contrast, no HDR, no clarity-slider crunch. The overall look is restrained, grave, and authentic, the quiet weight of a 150-year craft on a focused unsmiling man. It must read unmistakably as a real, candid documentary photograph of a real living human being captured by firelight in darkness, photographic only, with true human imperfection and grit, defeating any plastic, waxy, smoothed, airbrushed, illustrated, painterly, CGI, or 3D-render 'AI face' tell.

This brief was not written in one pass. Three Claude writers each drafted a version and a DP persona judged them; the winning brief was generated in Midjourney V8, and a GPT Image 2 alternate (this exact prompt) rendered as backup. The Midjourney pull won on skin texture. Both are in the pack.

Match the facing to your blocking. In the locked frame he faces screen right with the fire glow at lower left. Every shot he appears in has to be blocked around that facing, because the model will not mirror your character for you. Decide screen direction at the reference stage, not in the edit.

The bottle (and the label decision)

What it does: locks the product, and carries the one deliberate exception to my no-AI-text rule.

Old No 7 bottle reference photo

A clean, sharp Old No. 7 photo is the reference for every bottle generation. Normally I never let AI render text. Here I made one exception: the hero plate bakes the real label in, reproduced by GPT Image 2 directly from the reference photo, because the end frame is a slow crane onto the bottle and a blank bottle would kill it. The insurance policy: the camera move over the label is deliberately gentle, easing into a lock, so Seedance holds the lettering instead of smearing it.

Old No 7 bottle hero plate in firelight pool
BOTTLE HERO PLATE PROMPT (GPT Image 2)
MODEL: gpt_image_2  |  RESOLUTION: 2k  |  ASPECT RATIO: 16:9  |  QUALITY: high  |  REFERENCES: image_1 = Old No. 7 bottle photo (clean reference)
Cinematic photoreal hero product photograph of the iconic standard-size square Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 Tennessee whiskey bottle standing in a single warm pool of firelight against a deep near-black background. Faithfully reproduce the bottle and its real front label exactly as shown in the reference image: the square bottle with squared shoulders and a short black-capped neck, and the classic black front label with its cream and white lettering and fine filigree border, kept accurate and legible and matching the reference label artwork and typography as closely as possible. The bottle is filled with rich amber whiskey that glows where the firelight passes through it, warm specular highlights running down one edge of the glass, the black label catching a soft warm sheen of firelight, a soft amber reflection on the dark surface beneath it, faint drifting smoke and a few floating embers in the dark air. The bottle is turned just slightly toward camera so the front label reads clearly and flat, with generous dark negative space across the upper area of the frame. Dramatic, premium, moody, reverent. Compose this fresh as a new photograph, using the reference for the exact bottle shape and the exact label. Shot on Kodak Vision3 500T tungsten film stock with warm tungsten color science, fine organic 35mm film grain, gentle highlight roll-off, subtle natural halation and soft bloom only on the brightest firelight highlights, shallow depth of field, deep protected near-black crushed shadows, firelight as the only light source, a deep warm amber-and-black palette, authentic photographic micro-contrast, natural contrast, no HDR, no clarity-slider crunch, anamorphic cinematic feel. Photoreal, cinematic, not a 3D render, not CGI, not an illustration, not painterly. 16:9 horizontal.

The beats: char, patience, and the ice drop

What it does: one keyframe per beat, each with its own light logic inside the same fire-lit world.

Macro flame rolling across charred oak barrel interior

CHAR: live flame racing along the alligatored barrel char.

CHAR BARREL KEYFRAME PROMPT (GPT Image 2)
MODEL: gpt_image_2  |  RESOLUTION: 2k  |  ASPECT RATIO: 16:9  |  QUALITY: high
Extreme cinematic macro photograph of the charred interior of a new American white oak whiskey barrel as live orange flame rolls and races across the wood. The deeply alligatored blackened char of the toasted oak staves curves through the frame, glowing ember-red along the advancing burning edge, with a white-hot leading flame front and a spray of bright sparks flicking up toward the lens. Visible wood grain blistering into crocodile-skin char, heat shimmer rising off the surface. Tight razor depth of field on the burning char line, the rest of the barrel curving away into deep shadow. Shot on Kodak Vision3 500T tungsten film stock with warm tungsten color science, fine organic 35mm film grain, gentle highlight roll-off, subtle natural halation and soft bloom only on the brightest firelight highlights, shallow depth of field, deep protected near-black crushed shadows, firelight as the only light source, a deep warm amber-and-black palette, faint drifting wood-smoke haze and a few soft floating ember sparks, authentic photographic micro-contrast, natural contrast, no HDR, no clarity-slider crunch, anamorphic cinematic feel. ABSOLUTELY NO text, letters, numbers, words, labels, signage, logos, or brand marks anywhere in the frame. It must read as a real cinema photograph, not a 3D render, not CGI, not an illustration, not painterly. 16:9 horizontal.
Single amber whiskey drop above black charcoal

PATIENCE: a single drop of whiskey above black sugar-maple charcoal. The fire goes quiet for this beat.

CHARCOAL DRIP KEYFRAME PROMPT (GPT Image 2)
MODEL: gpt_image_2  |  RESOLUTION: 2k  |  ASPECT RATIO: 16:9  |  QUALITY: high
Extreme cinematic macro photograph of a single glistening amber droplet of whiskey suspended in mid-fall just above a bed of rough black sugar-maple charcoal chunks. The drop is caught in a thin warm rim of firelight with one tiny bright specular highlight on its curved surface and a faint vertical motion-stretch beneath it, and a single soft ring is just beginning to form on the charcoal directly below where it will land. The angular charcoal pieces glint faintly at their edges and are mostly swallowed by near-black shadow. A mood of stillness, weight, and patience, the quiet after the fire. Razor-thin shallow focus locked on the droplet, everything else falling soft.

Beat four was originally the distiller pouring a glass over a single big ice cube. Here is that keyframe and its prompt, and keep them, because the LESSON is in Stage 3: the shot died in production when the hands turned waxy on video.

Scrapped pour keyframe, crystal glass with a large ice block in firelight

The original beat 4, later scrapped. Kept here so you can see it was not the still that failed. It was the hands in motion.

POUR GLASS KEYFRAME PROMPT (SCRAPPED, read Stage 3)
MODEL: gpt_image_2  |  RESOLUTION: 2k  |  ASPECT RATIO: 16:9  |  QUALITY: high  |  REFERENCES: image_1 = master distiller (Midjourney source, locked identity)
Cinematic photoreal close shot of a heavy crystal rocks glass holding a single large clear square ice cube as a stream of rich amber Tennessee whiskey pours in and splashes around the ice, firelight refracting warm gold through the liquid and the cut glass, a few bright droplets flicking up and catching the light. The weathered, sun-creased hand and rolled-up charcoal cotton shirt sleeve and frayed canvas apron of the master distiller from the reference image enters from the side, fingers just about to close around the glass, his shadowed silver beard and jaw barely catching the firelight at the very top edge of the frame. Warm specular rim light along the glass edge, the background crushed to deep black, a slight speed-ramped feel to the splash. Compose this fresh as a new photograph using the reference only for the man's exact face, weathering, beard, skin, shirt and apron.

And this is the keyframe that replaced it:

Square ice cube splashing into a glass of amber whiskey
ICE DROP KEYFRAME PROMPT (GPT Image 2)
MODEL: gpt_image_2  |  RESOLUTION: 2k  |  ASPECT RATIO: 16:9  |  QUALITY: high
Cinematic photoreal macro photograph: a single large clear square ice cube plunging down into a heavy crystal rocks glass filled with amber Tennessee whiskey, the cube breaking the surface as the first burst of an amber splash crown erupts upward, golden droplets flung into the air, warm firelight refracting through the whiskey and the cut glass, deep near-black background with a few drifting embers. No hands, no people, just the glass, the ice and the whiskey. Shot on Kodak Vision3 500T tungsten film stock with HEAVY visible organic 35mm film grain across the entire frame, slightly soft photographic focus, gentle highlight roll-off, halation only on the brightest firelight highlights, authentic film micro-contrast, natural contrast, no HDR, no clarity-slider crunch, no plastic CGI sheen, no waxy smoothing. It must read as a real grainy film photograph, not a 3D render, not CGI, not an AI image. Deep warm amber-and-black palette, anamorphic cinematic feel. ABSOLUTELY NO text, letters, numbers, or logos anywhere in frame. 16:9 horizontal.

The storyboard

The board comes out of the Motion Design skill (the exact steps for triggering it are in Stage 2 below). I ran that skill at the top of this build so the kind of motion each beat gets, the push-in on the distiller, the macro on the char, the crane onto the bottle, was decided on paper before any video money got spent.

Storyboard one-sheet for the 5-beat whiskey spot

The one-sheet board of the 5-beat spine: FIRE, CHAR, PATIENCE, AMBER, HERO.

STORYBOARD ONE-SHEET PROMPT (GPT Image 2, 4K)
MODEL: gpt_image_2  |  RESOLUTION: 4k  |  ASPECT RATIO: 3:2  |  QUALITY: high
A premium cinematic film storyboard one-sheet for a moody whiskey commercial, designed as a sleek dark presentation board on a deep charcoal-black background with subtle warm amber accents and thin elegant frame borders. Layout: a clean header band across the top, then a tidy 3-column by 2-row grid of six 16:9 letterboxed film frames, each with a small caption strip directly beneath it. Every frame shares the same look: cinematic photoreal, Kodak Vision3 500T film grain, firelight as the only light source, deep crushed near-black shadows, warm amber-and-black palette, anamorphic mood. Header text, set in a refined modern serif, crisp and legible: a large title reading 'BORN IN FIRE. FINISHED IN PATIENCE.' with a smaller line beneath it reading 'Jack Daniel's | 15-Second Spec Spot'. Frame 1 image: a weathered old master distiller in three-quarter profile, his face rim-lit by an off-frame fire, Rembrandt lighting, deep shadow. Caption beneath in clean sans type: '01 FIRE' with a smaller line 'Slow push-in'. Frame 2 image: extreme macro of orange flame racing across the charred black interior of an oak whiskey barrel, sparks flying toward camera. Caption: '02 CHAR' with smaller line 'Whip-cut, macro orbit'. Frame 3 image: extreme macro of a single glistening amber whiskey droplet falling toward a bed of rough black charcoal, one soft warm highlight. Caption: '03 PATIENCE' with smaller line 'Slow descent, rack focus'. Frame 4 image: a heavy crystal rocks glass holding a square ice cube as amber whiskey pours over it, firelight refracting gold through the liquid, a weathered hand entering frame. Caption: '04 AMBER' with smaller line 'Dolly-orbit, speed ramp'. Frame 5 image: a square Old No. 7 style whiskey bottle with a black front label standing in a warm pool of firelight against deep black, embers in the dark air. Caption: '05 HERO' with smaller line 'Crane-down to lock'. Frame 6 is the END CARD: a near-solid black frame with the same square bottle small and centered low, and centered elegant serif title text reading 'BORN IN FIRE.' on the first line and 'FINISHED IN PATIENCE.' on the second line, with a small line beneath reading 'OLD NO. 7'. All typography must be clean, sharp, correctly spelled, well kerned and legible like a real motion-picture title card. A small footer credit in the bottom corner reads 'CROSSROAD MEDIA'. Premium, moody, modern, the feel of a high-end director's treatment page. Crisp 4K detail. Do not misspell or garble any text.

The grain pass (the realism trick)

What it does: kills the over-sharp AI look before the footage even exists.

Raw AI keyframes are too clean, and Seedance faithfully animates that plastic sharpness. So before animation, every keyframe ran through a local Python script: soft-light Gaussian noise layered as 35mm film grain, plus a slight blur to take the digital edge off (extra on the distiller, faces are where AI sharpness shows most). Look at the difference:

Raw GPT Image 2 keyframe, char barrel
Same keyframe after the 35mm grain pass

Left: the raw GPT Image 2 keyframe. Right: the exact grained plate Seedance received. The grain is what sells it as footage.

The five grained plates in the download pack are the exact files Seedance received, and grain.py itself is in the pack so you can run the same pass on your own keyframes (you need Python with the Pillow library installed; ask Claude to run it for you if that sentence means nothing to you). One more rule that came out of this: the grain in the moving footage comes from the Seedance prompt language (“heavy visible organic 35mm film grain on every frame”), not from a filter slapped on in the edit.

The end cards

Born in Fire Finished in Patience gold serif end cards

“BORN IN FIRE. FINISHED IN PATIENCE.” set in real gold serif type (Hoefler Text, with Didot and Cochin alternates, plus split layouts that sit around the bottle), rendered locally to transparent PNGs. AI never writes the type. All versions are in the pack.

Stage 2: The Prompting Framework

There is no video version of this tutorial, so here is the exact play-by-play, in the order I actually work. Two Claude skills are in the skills download, and the order between them IS the method: Motion Design directs the project (the brief, the 5-beat spine, the storyboard, what kind of motion each beat gets), and Seedance Director writes the video prompts, and it only enters once the board and every keyframe are locked and grained.

The setup (you do this once)

  1. Download the skills zip on this page and unzip it: motion-design.skill.md and seedance-director.skill.
  2. Add both to Claude: Settings, then Capabilities (or Skills), then upload. Or simply attach the file at the start of a new chat and tell Claude to follow it. Both work.
  3. Connect Higgsfield to Claude with the free Higgsfield connector (higgsfield.ai), or skip it and paste the prompts into Higgsfield yourself. Same prompts, same results.

Step 1: Trigger the Motion Design skill

Open a new chat and say, literally: “Use the motion design skill. I want a 15 second dark, moody commercial for [your product], 16:9, fire is the only light source.” The skill interviews you (style, duration, format, mood, storyboard frames), then builds the boards and keyframes through Higgsfield. I ran this exact skill at the top of this build. It is where the motion of every beat got decided: the push-in on the distiller, the macro orbit on the char, the crane onto the bottle. Storyboard first, always. It is the cheapest mistake-catcher in the whole pipeline.

Step 2: Approve every keyframe as a still, then grain it

One keyframe per beat, approved one at a time (all the prompts are on this page). The character is the one asset worth going outside for: this distiller came from Midjourney V8 because its skin texture won, and the GPT Image 2 alternate is in the pack for comparison. When everything is approved, run the grain pass from Stage 1 over every plate. Animate from the grained files, not the clean ones.

Step 3: Switch to the Seedance Director skill

Only now, with the board locked and the plates grained, say: “Now use the Seedance Director skill. Write the Seedance 2.0 prompt for the full 15 second spot from my storyboard, my 5 grained plates attached in beat order.” It writes the production prompt: Style and Mood, Dynamic Description, Static Description, Audio, in English and Chinese in one block. The master prompt below came out of it.

Step 4: Fire it in Higgsfield

Open Seedance 2.0, paste the prompt, attach the 5 grained plates as references in beat order, 16:9 at 1080p (15 seconds = 135 credits), generate, and judge it with sound on. Re-roll only the beats that miss (Stage 3 shows you exactly how that decision went on this build).

The three directing rules this build taught me

The base rules (one bilingual generation, references locked in every shot, sound effects only, no on-screen text) are covered step-by-step in my Corona workflow breakdown. This build added three more the hard way:

  1. Motion must be motivated. The camera is the whip: every fast move is triggered by something on screen. In the final spot the distiller stokes the fire, embers surge, and THAT surge drags the whip-pan. The first version whipped off him just standing there, and it read exactly as lazy as it sounds.
  2. The character must be DOING something. A reference portrait animates into a statue unless the prompt gives him a verb. “He leans in and works the flames” fixed what “the distiller stands in the firelight” broke.
  3. Keep the world consistent. Reference the same locked location in every shot, and match each reference’s facing to the shot’s screen direction. The model invents a new room, and a new facing, the moment you let it.

Stage 3: The Scenes

The all-in-one gamble

The plan was one 15-second Seedance multi-shot: all five grained plates passed as references in beat order, one prompt cutting through all five. At 1080p a 15-second run is 135 credits, so it is a cheap way to find out if the model can hold your whole spot. Verdict from run one: beat 2 was good, the beat 2 to 3 transition was excellent, and beats 1 and 4 were broken. The distiller just stared at the wall before an unmotivated whip, and the pour was worse: waxy over-rendered AI hands, the figure frozen mid-pour, and a lazy cross-dissolve the prompt never asked for.

The shot that got scrapped (and what replaced it). I tried to fix the pour with new keyframes. Two candidates later, the truth landed: AI still cannot fake a real human hand working a real object under close inspection, and your audience’s eye catches it instantly. So the human pour died entirely. Beat four became the Ice Drop: a square cube plunging into a glass of amber whiskey, no hands, no people, the product doing the acting. If a beat needs hands to sell it, redesign the beat.

The final 15-second master

What it does: the full five-beat spot in one generation. Shots 1 to 3 of the finished ad came from this exact prompt.

15s MASTER PROMPT, FINAL (Seedance 2.0)
MODEL: seedance_2_0  |  DURATION: 15s  |  RESOLUTION: 1080p  |  ASPECT RATIO: 16:9  |  AUDIO: on  |  REFERENCES: image_1 = grained distiller plate, image_2 = grained char-barrel plate, image_3 = grained charcoal-drip plate, image_4 = grained ice-drop plate, image_5 = grained bottle-hero plate
<<<image_1>>> = weathered master distiller, firelit Rembrandt portrait; <<<image_2>>> = macro flame on charred oak barrel interior; <<<image_3>>> = a single amber whiskey drop above black charcoal; <<<image_4>>> = a square ice cube splashing into a glass of amber whiskey; <<<image_5>>> = the square Old No. 7 bottle in a firelight pool. Style & Mood: Cinematic photoreal, Kodak Vision3 500T tungsten film stock with HEAVY visible organic 35mm film grain on every frame, anamorphic, firelight as the only light source, deep crushed near-black shadows, warm amber-and-black palette, premium and moody, kinetic and alive in every frame, no freeze frames. All transitions are hard cuts, whip-pans or match cuts, never a cross-dissolve. Dynamic Description: A handheld medium close-up on the firelit master distiller (<<<image_1>>>): his eyes lock on an off-frame fire, his jaw sets, and he leans in and reaches down to work the flames; as he stokes the fire it flares and a violent surge of orange embers erupts upward, and that ember surge drags the camera into a fast whip-pan up and to the right, motion-blurring off him. Whip-pan in to an extreme close-up macro orbit around the charred barrel rim (<<<image_2>>>), live orange flame racing along the alligatored char as sparks spit toward the lens, focus racking down the burning line, then a hard smash cut on a flying spark. A fast vertical whip-down chases a single glistening amber drop (<<<image_3>>>) falling toward black sugar-maple charcoal, the focus snapping onto the drop as it eases into speed-ramped slow motion, a soft ring spreading where it lands, then a hard match cut on the ring straight into a whiskey surface. A continuous orbit sweeps around a heavy crystal glass of amber whiskey (<<<image_4>>>) as a single clear square ice cube plunges in and an amber splash crown bursts upward; the camera keeps orbiting while the motion speed-ramps into dramatic slow motion at the peak of the splash, golden droplets suspended in the firelight, then eases back as the surface settles, the camera whipping up and away. Living liquid the entire time, never frozen. Whip up to a smooth continuous crane-down on the square Old No. 7 bottle (<<<image_5>>>), the fire alive and embers rising, easing into a held lock with dark negative space above the bottle, the black front label staying sharp and readable. Static Description: A single warm firelight source in darkness, drifting wood-smoke and floating embers throughout; a weathered distiller in a dark charcoal work shirt and canvas apron working a rickyard fire; a new charred American white oak barrel interior; rough black charcoal; a heavy crystal rocks glass with a clear square ice cube and amber Tennessee whiskey; the square Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 bottle with its black cream-and-white label on a dark reflective surface; deep near-black surroundings, heavy film grain. Audio: diegetic SFX only, the roar and crackle of fire swelling as he stokes it, a rush of embers, a whoosh on each whip, a single amplified drip, the splash and crack of ice, a low resonant room tone. No music, no score, no song.

What changed from the failed first run: beat 1 was rewritten so the distiller works the fire and an ember surge motivates the whip; beat 4 was rebuilt around the Ice Drop; every transition is forced to a hard cut, whip or match cut (“never a cross-dissolve” is written into the prompt in both languages); and the beats that already worked kept their language verbatim. Do not rewrite what the model already got right.

The Ice Drop clip (and the match-cut seam)

What it does: a dedicated 10-second generation for beats 4 and 5, stitched to the master in the edit.

Even rewritten, the full 15s with five references behaved like a slot machine: some beats landed, others mangled, different ones each run. So the final ad is stitched: beats 1 to 3 salvaged from the master run, plus one clean 10-second clip for beats 4 and 5. The seam is invisible because of a planned match cut: the Ice Drop clip OPENS on a calm glass of amber whiskey sitting on the same charred wood with the same flame bokeh, matched to the master’s beat-3 end frame. Liquid amber to liquid amber. Then the cube drops, the orbit speed-ramps into slow motion at the splash crown, and the camera booms up off the glass into the bottle hero.

Calm amber whiskey glass on charred wood, the match-cut seam frame

The seam frame: calm amber on charred wood, built to match the previous shot’s end frame.

MATCH-CUT OPENING KEYFRAME PROMPT (GPT Image 2)
MODEL: gpt_image_2  |  RESOLUTION: 2k  |  ASPECT RATIO: 16:9  |  QUALITY: high  |  REFERENCES: image_1 = reference image
Cinematic photoreal macro photograph: a heavy crystal rocks glass holding calm, perfectly still amber Tennessee whiskey, centered in the frame, the glossy amber surface catching a single soft warm vertical firelight highlight, a soft out-of-focus warm firelight bokeh glowing in the upper-left background exactly like the reference image, the rest of the frame falling to deep near-black with a few faint drifting embers. No ice in the glass yet, no splash, the liquid dead still. Match the reference image tone-for-tone: the same warm amber color, the same soft flame bokeh shape and placement, the same darkness, the same low contrast and the same heavy film grain, so the two images cut together seamlessly. No hands, no people. Shot on Kodak Vision3 500T tungsten film stock with heavy visible organic 35mm film grain, slightly soft photographic focus, gentle highlight roll-off, halation only on the brightest firelight highlight, no plastic CGI sheen, no waxy smoothing. It must read as a real grainy film photograph, not a 3D render, not CGI, not an AI image. Deep warm amber-and-black palette, anamorphic cinematic feel. ABSOLUTELY NO text, letters, numbers, or logos anywhere in frame. 16:9 horizontal.
10s ICE DROP PROMPT, FINAL (Seedance 2.0)
MODEL: seedance_2_0  |  DURATION: 10s  |  RESOLUTION: 1080p  |  ASPECT RATIO: 16:9  |  AUDIO: on  |  REFERENCES: image_1 = reference image, image_2 = grained bottle-hero plate
<<<image_1>>> = a heavy crystal glass of calm amber whiskey on charred wood with a warm flame bokeh behind; <<<image_2>>> = the square Old No. 7 bottle in a firelight pool. Style & Mood: Cinematic photoreal, Kodak Vision3 500T tungsten film stock with heavy visible organic 35mm film grain, anamorphic, firelight as the only light source, deep crushed near-black shadows, warm amber-and-black palette, premium, moody, kinetic and alive in every frame, no freeze frames. The whole piece is one continuous energetic move. Dynamic Description: From the very first frame, a fast continuous orbit whips around a heavy crystal glass of amber whiskey (<<<image_1>>>) sitting on charred wood, the camera sweeping around it with speed and a whoosh; a clear square ice cube plunges down into the glass and an amber splash crown bursts upward, whiskey flung everywhere, and the motion speed-ramps into dramatic slow motion at the peak of the splash, golden droplets hanging suspended in the firelight while the camera keeps orbiting; then the camera booms and whips straight up off the splash with a rising whoosh, the droplets trailing upward, and rises to land on the square Old No. 7 bottle (<<<image_2>>>) standing in its warm firelight pool, easing into a held hero shot with dark negative space above the bottle and the black label sharp and readable. Continuous motion the entire time, living liquid, never frozen, never a tripod lock. Static Description: A heavy cut-crystal rocks glass of amber Tennessee whiskey on charred black wood, a soft warm firelight bokeh glowing behind, a clear square ice cube, an amber splash and flying droplets, deep near-black surroundings with drifting embers, heavy film grain; the square Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 bottle with its black cream-and-white label in a warm firelight pool. Audio: diegetic SFX only: a whoosh as the camera orbits, the solid plunk of the ice cube dropping into the glass, a big splash of whiskey going everywhere, a faint fire crackle low in the background, and a rising whoosh as the camera lifts to the bottle. No pouring sound, no music, no score, no song.

The finish

I stitched it in Premiere: master run beats 1 to 3, hard cut into the Ice Drop clip on the amber match, out on the bottle crane. Seedance’s own SFX stayed (fire roar, the amplified drip, the ice plunk and splash, whooshes on every whip), my own score went on top, and the gold “Born in Fire. Finished in Patience.” type dropped onto the hero frame’s negative space. Upscaled to 4K in Topaz and shipped.

Recreate it with your own product

  1. Lock your two references first: one character portrait (decide the facing NOW and block around it) and one clean product photo with the label sharp.
  2. Board a 5-beat spine where your product’s real process is the story, then generate one keyframe per beat with GPT Image 2 and get each approved.
  3. Run grain.py over every keyframe. Animate from the grained plates, and put the film-stock and grain language inside the video prompt too.
  4. Fire the 15-second master with all five plates attached. Give your character a verb, motivate every camera move, forbid cross-dissolves. If a human-hands beat comes back waxy, cut the hands and let the product act.
  5. Rescue what works, generate a dedicated clip for what does not, and hide the seam with a planned match cut. Stitch, score with your own track, drop real type on the hero frame.

Download everything from this build. The full pack has the references, all the keyframes, the storyboard, the five grained plates Seedance actually received, the grain script itself, the gold end-card PNGs, and every prompt I fired (the scrapped and failed ones included). The skills zip is just the two Claude skills if that is all you want.
